Zhytomyr, Ukraine
A new image of the city
The aim of the project is to create new, bold associations with the city. To give a new character to an ordinary provincial city.
Currently, the main associations with the city are socks and ice cream. But our vision is for Zhytomyr to become the IT capital of Ukraine. The first step is a strong and visible brand.

Why space?
The father of space

Korolev Serhii Pavlovych
Ukrainian inventor in the field of rocketry and astronautics
Born in Zhytomyr and graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. He was a prisoner of the Gulag concentration camps, where he almost died.
In 1959, he presented a plan to conquer Mars. On 12 April 1961, he launched the first man into space. Among his favourite songs: ‘I look up at the sky and think…’
He was the first to send a satellite, a dog and a man into space

Logo history
We took the logo of the Zhytomyr Cosmonautics Museum as a basis.
In 2020, it was developed by Artem Bondarchuk as part of his studies at the Faculty of Arts.

Typeface
Font pair
Ermilov Bold was chosen as the main font, which expresses strength and confidence. There is only ‘bold’ in the outline.
The font for the text was convenient and unpretentious Manrope.
Palette
Colour
We named the main colour Rich Black for its depth and stability. It perfectly conveys a calm mood. In contrast, we created an energetic sunny Stable Orange.

The main idea
Visual concept
The main visual technique is the eclipse effect of a cosmic body. It's kind of ironic that Zhytomyr always seems to be somewhere in the shadows.
But behind every sunset there will always be a sunrise.
